Our Newcastle 1996/1997 retro away shirt socks are based on one of Newcastles most iconic retro shirts from the golden age of the Kevin Keegan era. The 1996/97 Newcastle away shirt had a distinctive blue design with a black band around the centre. In the 1996/97 season Newcastle were managed Kevin Keegan and finsihed second in the league 7pts behind Manchester United, despite completing the world record transfer of Alan Shearer. Some of Newcastles key players that season were Alan Shearer, Tino Asprilla, and David Batty.
